Louisiana Tech University has room-dimension data for 3 residence halls. Published room sizes range from about 158 to 180 sq ft, with a median of 168 sq ft. Find exact width × length and square footage for each hall below, then preview your layout in the visualizer. We also cover Mitchell Hall, which Louisiana Tech has not published dimensions for.
Heads up — this school breaks the usual rules
Bed size: Louisiana Tech uses three different bed sizes. Adams, Aswell, Dudley and Graham are regular Twin, 75 in long. Cottingham, Mitchell, Richardson, Potts, Robinson and Legacy Park are Twin XL, 80 in long. University Park and Park Place are Full. Confirm your hall assignment before you buy sheets.
- Three bed sizes on one campus. Twin, Twin XL and Full all appear at Louisiana Tech. Nearly every other university in the country is Twin XL everywhere.
- Adams, Aswell, Dudley and Graham are regular Twin — 75 inches long, five inches shorter than the Twin XL that every generic dorm checklist assumes.
- Cottingham, Mitchell, Richardson, Potts, Robinson and Legacy Park are Twin XL, 80 inches long.
- University Park and Park Place are Full. Full-size dorm beds are rare, and Full sheets are not what comes in a college bedding bundle.
- The university’s own move-in checklist is wrong for four halls. It tells students to bring “Twin XL Size Sheets/Comforter,” carves out Full for University Park and Park Place, and never mentions that Adams, Aswell, Dudley and Graham are plain Twin.
- Mattress width is not published anywhere. Louisiana Tech publishes bed length only. Measure before you buy fitted sheets.
- Personal wireless routers are banned in the newer buildings — Cottingham, Mitchell, Richardson, Legacy Park, Potts and Robinson — because wireless is already provided. The older halls are not covered by that ban.
- Housing is billed by the quarter, not the semester. Louisiana Tech runs a quarter calendar, so its published housing costs do not line up with semester schools.
Buying the standard college checklist here will waste money — check your building first.

What is confirmed
- Beds are Twin XL and “some loftable.” Mitchell is never bunkable. Mattress width is not published.
- All-female. Mitchell is designated for incoming freshmen females and returning females only, beginning Fall 2024.
- Returning students are limited to the 2nd and 4th floors. The hall’s own page does not mention this — only the returning-student housing list does.
- The flex bedrooms share a community restroom of two showers and two toilets with 7–14 residents. The single-bedroom option shares one with 6–7.
- Personal wireless routers are banned. Mitchell is one of the newer buildings where wireless is already provided, so you may not bring your own — unlike the older halls.
- Part of Bulldog Village. The single and flex wings opened Winter 2022; the suite wing opened Spring 2023.
Not published by the university: room length × width, square footage, mattress width, desk and wardrobe specifics, air-conditioning type, window size and ceiling height. Note that Louisiana Tech bills housing by the quarter, not the semester.
